Well first step when planting succulents outdoor is to pay attention that your soil is not heavy because succulents will not do well in clay soil, so before everything check out the clay of the soil, be sure it is nice and loose the reason is succulents like dry soil and also drainage is so important to their survival.
After making sure that the soil is ok it is time to dig a hole, the important thing here is that you need to dig a hole which is twice as wide as the succulent`s, about the depth, it is not that important actually because succulents doesn’t grow that deep.
If your succulent is in pot and you want to get it out of it and plant it in soil, be sure to loosen I out of the pot then give it a few pinches to loosen out the root ball.
Before putting your succulent in hole, put in a couple handfuls of organic compost and worm compost, this compost will help your oil give nutrients to the succulent and by using it you will not need to use fertilizer. Make sure that the crown of the plant stays up about half an inch to an inch above the line, it is because the weight of the plant is going to pull it down into the soil and it is better not to get down too far because crown can get drown and it will lead your succulent die.
After that put a layer of mentioned compost mixture again around it, and there you have it, it is done. Be sure to keep the soil dry for about a week and after that water it every 10 days to keep your succulent healthy an alive.
